I recently saw a video of Mr. Rogers speaking about the importance of- REFLECTION.
He suggested that reflection is a very meaningful self-care practice that can be transformative.
Taking time out of all the busy-ness of our days for just a few moments to slow down, reflect , and tune into ourselves can be so rewarding.
Being in nature can be a beautiful place for self-reflection. But, you don’t need to go anywhere. You can simply stare at the trees or clouds right outside your window.
Next time you find yourself aimlessly scrolling, or re-checking your email for the 20th time that day – try putting the phone down for a moment. Take a deep breathe in-exhale and get quiet. Get present with yourself. What are you thinking? How are you feeling?
The impact of this simple practice, when incorporated into our daily routine, can be profound. By regularly engaging in self-reflection, we deepen our understanding of ourselves and create opportunities for personal growth.
So, the next time you feel the urge to distract yourself with technology or busyness, remember Mr. Rogers’ wisdom. Embrace the quiet moments, for within them lies the potential for self-discovery and transformation.
